Hyperspace

A web application prototyping facilitator

Screen shots

The first screen shot was taken after opening one of the sample projects. The project node is selected by default. The view tab is an imbedded browser and allows you to see what output is effective for the current selected node.

Project node - View

The second screen shot shows the edit tab for the same project node. Editing HTML can be done in this tab or in an external editor.

Project node - Edit

The third screen shot shows the edit tab for one of the use cases. Each node has its own HTML snippet which adds to the overall output of the use case illustration.

Use case node - Edit

The fourth screen shot shows the element override tab for one of the illustration nodes of the above use case. Here the illustration overrides the value of the "policynumber" field inherited from the use case node, because there is a need to illustrate a scenario were this value has been entered.

Illustration node - Element override

The fifth screen shot shows the output of the above illustration node. Here you can see that the "Policy Number" field has the desired value to illustrate the scenario.

Illustration node - View

The last screen shot shows the final output of the above illustration. Publishing HTML files via Hyperspace has many advantages. E.g. you can email the prototype to someone, deploy the prototype on a server and view the illustrations on any compatible browser. Another advantage is the illustration control bar that is added to the prototype. People often create prototypes that expect the reader to click on links and buttons within the illustration to make it look like a real application. This should be avoided, because of the likelyhood of incoherent links. The control bar prevents bugs relating to incoherent hyperlinks.
